Check Out the Amazing Fan Art Commissions for Danmei Dreams
Since starting this blog, I’ve had the absolute pleasure to work with a collection of amazing fan artists for commissions for Danmei Dreams. It’s been so much fun to work with such incredibly talented people, and each one has created inspiring works of art.
This page brings that collection together, and I’ll add to it as I commission new art. I’m still figuring out what to do with this art beyond using it to adorn posts on the blog. Apparel, ceramics, an art book, a calendar, prints? I’d love to hear from you about what you’d like to see in the future.
Artists below in rough chronological order of commissions.
LinLin
LinLin is the artist I selected to create a banner for Danmei Dreams, and she did not disappoint. Her use of colors, textures, and other detail work is stunning. The sheer amount of detail and texture in this banner feels luxurious, and I love seeing some of my favorite danmei couples so resplendent. I’m so thrilled for this to be part of the core visual identity of Danmei Dreams.
Reinny Day
Reinny Day is the artist behind the gorgeous Danmei Dreams site logo. I first virtually met Reinny when she shared some of her wonderfully fun TGCF fan art, and later when looking for a logo artist she was a top pick. She took my vague ideas (rabbits! peach blossoms!) and turned it in to something coherent and lovely.
Pu
Pu is such an incredible artist. I found their NSFW images early on in kicking off my bluesky explorations, and was quickly drawn to them. When an opportunity for a commission came my way, I jumped on it. And then I commissioned another, and then another…
Even better, through this process I had the chance to get to know Pu better and read some danmei together. It’s been so much fun making a new friend along the way.

JuBu
JuBu’s works of art absolutely floored me with their beauty, and I was so excited to commission this piece of Gu Yun and Chang Gu’s first kiss from Stars of Chaos. It turned out so well, perfectly capturing the chaos of the battlefield and the passion of the moment. Read more about JuBu in her artist spotlight.
Rauch
I think Rauch is actually made of magic. I approached him with some very vague ideas about a commission and he created something more awe-inspiring and incredible than my wildest dreams. The composition is exquisite. The symmetry of Shen Wei’s martyrdom being disrupted by Zhao Yunlan’s position tells a the story in visual terms so well. The colors, especially the contrast between the bright and the dark in layers in the center mirrors the narrative tension between life and death, good and evil, and between Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei. chapter56
I’ve long been a fan of chapter56‘s sublime art, so I reached out for a skeb-style “sketch” commission for the blog. I threw out a bunch of potential prompts with no idea what they would choose, and received this gorgeous illustration shortly thereafter. I love the detail of the light coming in just as Hua Cheng is finishing, sort of teasing a reveal with the sun.
