I’m a wandering 外国人 (outsider/non-Chinese person). I fell down the danmei rabbit hole and couldn’t climb out again, so now I write about it. I started Danmei Dreams as an opportunity to channel my enthusiasm about danmei into a creative pursuit–a chance to celebrate all of the inspiration, curiosity, and passion in the danmei fan community.
I have a couple of degrees in art history and one in Chinese language and culture. Outside of writing this blog, I work at my grown-up job (which is entirely unrelated to my background in art or Chinese), hang out with my family, meander through the forest, and read homoerotic subtext into all the media I consume.
