Take a look at the new Heaven Official’s Blessing short film from Bilibili! When I heard the announcement about a short film being released, I had hoped it would be 45-60 minutes in length. Instead it’s 8 minutes. The length might be disappointing, but the short video is still absolutely beautiful. The version with English sub-titles is below:
While I would have loved to see more content, the dreamy ethereal feel of the donghua is elevated in this video. It’s an interesting contrast to the book, where these meetings between the leads happen amongst all of the other events. Seeing them in succession like this really builds on the connection between Xie Lian and Hua Cheng.
